Ask the patient "ARE YOU CHOKING?"
If the patient is choking and can't breath perform the HEIMLICH.
Stand behind the patient.
Make a fist with one hand, place it with thumb-side against the patient's
abdomen in the midline slightly above the navel and well below the top of the
rib cage, xiphoid.
Grasp fist with other hand.
Press into the patient's abdomen with quick, upward thrusts.
Repeat until either the object is expelled or the patient becomes
